Ingredientschocolate cake

  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 1/2 cup cacao
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs (separated)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts

Directions

  1. preheat oven to 170 deg and grease a cake tin with coconut oil
  2. in a large bowl, combine dry ingredients
  3. add maple syrup, coconut oil, water, vanilla & egg yolks and mix until combined
  4. add walnuts and stir through
  5. in a small bowl beat egg whites until peaks form
  6. fold egg whites into the mixture, until combined
  7. pour into cake tin and bake for approx 20 mins or until just cooked on the outside
  8. let cool on wire rack
